The short version: DocScan does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your personal information. Everything you scan stays on your device. There are no accounts, no servers, no ads, and no tracking.
Data Not Collected

Who we are

DocScan (“the app”) is developed by David Stern (“we,” “us”). This policy explains how the app handles your information. It applies to the DocScan iOS application.

What we collect

Nothing. DocScan does not collect personal data, does not require an account or login, and does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software.

How your documents are handled

Permissions the app uses

iCloud backup (optional)

If you choose to back up to iCloud, your backup is stored in your own iCloud account through Apple’s services. We do not receive, access, or store your backups. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. You may also export a portable backup file that you control and store wherever you like.

Purchases (the optional tip)

DocScan is free. It offers an optional “tip” in-app purchase that unlocks nothing — it’s simply a way to support development. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, payment details, or any personal information from a tip.

Children’s privacy

DocScan is rated 4+ and does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and post the revised version here.
